The Christmas tree, bedecked with decorations, had been moved into its prime position, next to the stage in the main hall. This could mean only one thing… It was time for the annual carol service at DCGS!
In a matter of minutes, the hall filled with buzzing students from all across the school. The school choir, orchestrated by Mr Tansley, then performed a marvellous collection of festive carols, students joining in with the choir in many of them. Accompanied by readings from older students and teachers throughout the service, the performance was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff alike.
Particularly memorable was the performance of Silent Night, a highlight because of the first verse, which was in German. The Carol Service provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on Christmas and the upcoming festivities as well as closing out a hectic but engaging first term.
